Driver and front passenger airbags.

The driver and front passenger airbags provide effective protection for the head and upper-torso area, preventing contact with the steering wheel and dashboard. In a head-on collision, you have the best possible protection.

The principle behind the function of the front airbags for driver and passenger is very simple: in the event of an impact with a force greater than the safe threshold, the airbag sensors activate a substance that causes the airbags to instantly inflate. Within a fraction of a second, the airbags form a protective cushion over the steering wheel and dashboard, significantly reducing the risk of cranial and upper body injuries.
The two-stage gas generator enables the airbag to be inflated to match the strength of the impact. In a high-impact accident, the airbags are inflating more quickly and to their fullest extent, to provide maximum protection. If the collision is less severe, inflation is not as instantaneous, meaning that the airbags can cushion the occupants more gently.
However severe the impact, the airbags are always inflated in such a way to ensure that neither driver nor passenger has contact with the steering wheel or instrument panel. The front passenger airbag does not inflate if the passenger seat is empty, reducing the replacement and repairs costs after the accident.

Front and rear side airbags.

Protection from every side: the front and rear side airbags give you added protection in the event of a side impact, significantly lowering the risk of injury at chest and hip level.

A side-impact situation presents particular dangers to the driver and the occupants of the vehicle. As part of a precisely coordinated safety response, side airbags in the front and rear offer effective protection from intruding objects and reduce the danger of injury.
Within 20 milliseconds, the robust air cushions inflate fully, forming a protective barrier between the door and the occupant. The side airbag moves the occupant’s body away from the danger zone, reducing the force exerted on the body during a collision from the side. The risk of injury to the hip and chest area is significantly lowered.
Thanks to the intelligent design, all occupants benefit from additional side protection regardless of their position – whether seat further forward or further back, or whether the backrest is upright or reclined. The side airbags are constructed in such a way as to offer effective protection across the entire seat position area. In contrast to seat-integrated systems, they also offer excellent protection in the event of an off-set frontal collision, or when the upper body is abruptly moved forward.
