BMW has brought home another award, this time for its superior interior showcased in the all-new 2010 BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo. BMW designed the Gran Turismo to imitate the original gran turismo design, which was a luxurious, sporty sedan designed for two with extra storage. The BMW GT seats 4 or 5 comfortably with an extremely accommodating, generous sized trunk. ”We’re very pleased to receive this award,” said Jim O’Donnell, President and CEO of BMW of North America. ”With the 5 Series Gran Turismo, our engineers and designers set out to create a vehicle that combined first-class seating for four with the utmost in flexibility for storage options. This award for Design Versatility shows just how well they hit that target.”
The BMW GT has been available in US showrooms since December. The 535i GT arrived more recently featuring BMW’s all-new turbo in-line six cylinder engine coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission. As always, the GT includes four years or 50,000 miles of free scheduled maintenance.
