The functions of the ConnectedDrive are expanding yet again. And once again, BMW has its nose in front with the latest in automotive technological advances. Beginning this fall, BMW owners who have Blackberry Smartphones will be able to access their email using the car’s iDrive operating system.
Emails received while driving can be immediately displayed on the Control Display and as an additional option – be read out loud by the push of a button. The question remains whether or not you can change your boss’s cryptic sounding email and disguise it with a voice resembling Miss Piggy’s….
The email function will soon be available for all BMW models that have the navigation system Professional; and although it is compatible with only the BlackBerry Pearl 3G at this point, there is no doubt that in the future more smartphones will be added to the list.
