At Kuni BMW, we were very excited to take delivery of our very first BMW i8 this month! As you may know, the i8 is BMW’s first Hybrid Electric Sports car. Kuni Automotive was able to donate two BMW i8’s to the Classic Wines Auction earlier this year which generated $480,000 in revenue and approximately $300,000 in net donations to the Auction. The Classic Wines Auction supports the good work of Oregon and Washington non-profit organizations by providing funds to help children and families in the area. Tuesday night we hosted a small celebration at the dealership and delivered the i8 to its new owners!
There was much anticipation to unveil the i8!
Guests checked out the car and congratulated the new owners!
Another i8 will be offered at this year’s auction! Additional information can be found on the Classic Wines Auction Website.

To create awareness for the all-electric BMW i3 vehicle, Kuni BMW attended Drive Revolution: The Future of Transportation at the Oregon Museum of Science & Industry (OMSI) in Portland, OR. The event showcased the latest in sustainable transportation options including bikes, cars, public transportation and more.
Kuni BMW presented the BMW i3 for spectators to explore and test drive.
In addition to being an emission-free car, the BMW i3 uses the maximum possible amount of sustainably produced and recycled materials throughout the exterior and interior. Responsibly-forested eucalyptus and the Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) roof panel are just a few examples of how renewable resources craft the BMW i3.

The BMW i8 is poised to revolutionize the hybrid sports car class in many ways. We expected amazing ecotech, however we were not expecting to be blown away by the key fob. Containing its own high resolution LCD display it is reportedly able to show charge levels, time on charge, as well as the distance the vehicle can travel before recharging/fueling. This key fob may just be smarter than your smart phone. In fact its like having a mini smart phone dedicated to your car. Wherever you may be, you are connected to your vehicle. You can even preset the temperature so it’s defrosted and warm in the winter, or cooled down and ready in the summer, all before you arrive at your car.
If the smart key is any indication about the amazing technology this car will possess, frankly we cant wait to take it for a spin.
Interested in hybrid technology currently available? We have several Active Hybrid 3 & 5 models available now!

On Monday July 29th, the production version of the highly anticipated BMW i3 was unveiled. Upholding BMW’s slogan “the ultimate driving machine”, the electric i3 doesn’t compromise design, safety, or attention to detail for sustainability.
Expected in fall 2014, the i3 is will sport a 100 mile driving range in a single battery charge. Efficiency features will extend the range of the i3 by analyzing driving style, traffic, and route topography. The vehicle can be charged to 80% of its capacity in less than 6 hours. If necessary, the Navigation can guide the driver to the closest charging station with the most efficient driving route.
The BMW i3’s carbon fiber exterior provides strength and agility without adding weight. The spacious interior is composed of sustainable resources such as naturally tanned leather and recycled plastics without compromising the BMW look and feel.
Designed primarily for urban use, the electric i3 offers the equivalent of 170 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in 7 seconds. Its compact design will allow for parking in tight spaces and easy maneuvering.Share on Facebook
