In an effort to demonstrate the exceptional versatility of their vehicles, BMW plans to present a wide array of different models for use by emergency services at the General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference (GPEC) in early September. Here are a few examples of vehicles being exhibited for their overall performance, especially as it pertains to the specific needs of law enforcement:
Already considered to be one of the best Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV) commercially available, the new BMW X3 is being presented in a different light. With a wide range of functionality, the X3 could service an equally wide range of needs that are held by many law enforcement agencies around the world. In addition, the X3′s great customization and wide array of options and features make it perfect for even the most specific task.
BMW 3 Series Touring
Combining the speed, handling, and agility of the BMW 3 Series line with exceptional interior space and improved driver assistance systems, the new BMW 3 Series Touring seems to be the perfect vehicle for many different types of law enforcement work. In addition, the 3 Series Touring is adaptable to any form of customization, making it ideal for law enforcement agencies to equip with whatever technology or features are necessary.
BMW i3 Concept
Considered to be a “car of the future”, the i3 Concept, while not yet in production, promises to be a completely electrically powered vehicle. In addition to its many other uses, the i3 is widely applicable in the arena of security, offering advantages that other fuel-powered cars do not. Perfect for deployment in localized areas such as harbors or airports because of its incredibly low emissions, the i3 promises to revolutionize the way in which security and law enforcement traverse urban environments.

Continuing to dominate the automotive market in both already-developed cars and concept cars, BMW had an impressive showing at the German Design Council’s Automotive Brand Contest 2012. Taking home a grand total of 48 awards, BMW Group Design showed again the exceptional design quality and painstaking effort that goes into every single BMW vehicle. Here are just a few of the designs that stood above the competition:
BMW i8 Concept Spyder
Combining incredible fuel efficiency and a futuristic, sleek design, the BMW i8 Concept Spyder is truly “the car of the future”. An intelligent lightweight design and BMW’s highly researched cutting-edge hybrid technology make the Spyder the world’s first “hybrid-sports car”. The Concept Spyder was celebrated by the German Design Council for its use of technology and overall, impressive design.
BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe
A model that is now available, the BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe represents BMW’s attempt at combining the comfort and aesthetics of a classic Coupe with the luxurious and exceptional performance of a sports car. The attempt has paid off, and the new 6 Series Gran Coupe has quickly come to be considered one of BMW’s best looking cars. In a competition that praises aesthetics above all else, the Gran Coupe still managed to astound and inspire.
BMW Zagato Coupe
Flaunting a style that is decidedly nontraditional for BMW, the new Zagato Coupe is truly a product of collaboration. Conceived as a BMW seen through the eyes of Italian coachbuilder Zagato, it presents a visually arresting and emotive exterior design. With Zagato’s famed sculpting of the vehicle and BMW’s attentive treatment of surfaces, its not surprising that the Coupe surprised and awed those at the 2012 Automotive Brand Contest.
BMW S 1000 RR
When one thinks of BMW, the mind may not immediately gravitate towards motorcycles. But, with fresh, alluring new designs, BMW has set out to change that. Lending patented technology to a motorcycle allows BMW to produce a sleek, lean new take on a performance motorcycle. With the addition of side aperture grilles to the center air box cover and a discreet revision of the asymmetrical side panels, the new S 1000 RR is shaping up to be a landmark effort for BMW and motorcycle enthusiasts alike.Share on Facebook
When people think about the BMW brand, they don’t think about it as a collection of vehicles. Rather, BMW represents a spirit that values quality, attention to detail, and a rich history. The BMW Spirit is captured perfectly in this episode of Cars I See, in which David Duran showcases his classic 1987 BMW 325i, explaining that to him, it is more than just a car.

Recently, Kuni BMW has aired a number of television spots and web videos honoring Oregon’s Champions. With the Olympics comes the idea of recognizing those among us who demonstrate the skills, abilities, and commitment necessary to achieve greatness. We wanted to recognize those in our community who express this dedication and commitment, but do so in a way that improves the lives of those in their own communities.
At Kuni BMW we understand and value what it means to be involved in the community. We strive to be the best at what we do, and we want to recognize those whose goal is not athletic achievements or business success, but rather to simply make the lives of those in their communities better.

BMW has begun offering a much more personalized, intimate way to listen to radio for BMW drivers with BMW Apps and Mini Drivers with Mini Connected. This new update comes in the form of a fully-integrated Stitcher SmartRadio™ App experience for any compatible vehicles. More than just a simple radio app, the Stitcher SmartRadio™ App allows BMW and Mini Drivers to create their own personal talk radio stations by selecting content and programs that they enjoy to form a seamless radio listening experience that is expertly tailored to the driver’s interest. In addition to providing access to programs that the driver already enjoys, the App will make suggestions about possible programs that the driver might be interested in, based on the preferences that he or she has already expressed. This groundbreaking partnership between Stitcher and BMW is, in part, an attempt to allow BMW and Mini Drivers to have access to the same functionality in their cars that they possess in their smartphones.Share on Facebook
The distinction of being named the Official Automotive Partner to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games is one that BMW has held with great pride, but for BMW, it is more than a sponsorship. By seizing the opportunity to be involved in the world’s greatest athletic events, BMW is having an impressive impact on the Olympic and Paralympic Games. With a fleet of environmentally conscious, sustainable vehicles, BMW is going beyond their responsibilities as a sponsor, and have provided nearly 4,000 low emission cars to support the athletes and organizers in their efforts to make the games run as smoothly as possible.
In addition to logistical support, BMW has gone above and beyond to support the United States Olympic Team. The company has recently been developing camera technology to capture and analyze information about human movement, in an attempt to develop some method of empowering the vehicle to detect obstacles or pedestrians. BMW provided this technology to the U.S. Olympic Team to capture data about long jumpers’ performance, allowing coaches to better understand the techniques and training requirements of their athletes. U.S. Olympian Will Claye earned the bronze medal in the long jump, showcasing the invaluable help that BMW has provided to the team. Overall, BMW has had a great positive impact on these Olympic Games, making them an efficient and awe-inspiring as possible.
